De tweede opstand stond bij leiding van sjeik Said, een soennitische Koerdische geestelijke. Verder deze opstand werd onderdrukt en sjeik Said werden gearresteerd en opgehangen. Voor een derde opstand, in 1927, riepen de Koerden in dit noordoosten aangaande nederland een Republiek Ararat uit.

For most people, Kurdistan and Iraq is probably not going to be a place they would seek to travel to but it’s posts like this one which show the human side to these destinations that will hopefully inspire people to visit.
